The "Groundhog Weather Report" Doozy ecard is from a segment of a 1930s cartoon in the public domain. It begins with a view. It is located in the forest where we see a door on a mound. Over is a sign saying "Professor Weatherby, Groundhog Weather Forecaster Extraordinary." On each side of the door, which is flat on the ground of the mound, are antennas that are moving. To the left is a very big thermometer encased in a tree. Suddenly, the door flips open on the mound and Professor Weatherby Groundhog runs out holding a piece of paper. He's wearing a small hat, round glasses, and blue short pants. As he runs, there's a trail of smoke behind him! He places the piece of paper on the weather bulletin board for people to see and begins to ring the bell, as it is important. As he rings the bell up and down, we can see him go up and down as well. When he goes up, his blue shorts remained in mid-air! Next, we have a view of the whole village where all the birds poke their heads out of their windows, wondering what is going on. One after the other, they begin to run towards the bulletin board. They all read the bulletin board with great concern as the latest news from the quote "underground news service: Groundhog is that "terrific cold wave headed this way... All birds advised to go south at once! Signed Professor Weatherby Groundhog." They all agree it is time to go down South, and we can see the birds dressed with hats and top hats, skirts and shoes, and everyone with a concerned face. At the end, you see all the birds running away, leaving a trail of smoke behind them, and the screen fades into the final banner reading "Happy Groundhog Day!"
